Products from Mangalitsa
The Mangalitsa is a Hungarian breed of domestic pig.
It was developed in the mid-19th century by crossbreeding Hungarian breeds from Szalonta and Bakony with European wild boar and the Serbian Šumadija breed.
The Mangalica pig grows a thick, woolly coat similar to that of a sheep.It can have grey ish, ginger or black and white coat which is always curly.
Pork fat is tastier, meat is juicier and it has much lower content of so called bad cholesterol. Mangalitsas from the Slovakian Mangalica farm in Hurbanovo are free range.
